Hello from Crewe!

Post by Rob E » Sat May 20, 2017 7:05 pm

Hello Everyone,

Just thought I'd say hello, I'm Rob and I'm currently residing in Crewe (originally from North Wales :D)

I've been slowly building a collection of 1:43 and some 1:18 scale models over the last 4 years. Found the scale143 forum when researching some photo etched things so thought I'd join and share my collection. I'll get a collection thread on the go shortly.

Thanks,
Rob

Welcome to the world's best forum for collectors of 1:43 models (other scales available...etc,.). It will be interesting to see if being resident in Crewe you are also a collector of the renowned local product and previous product. As you might have noticed those cars have quite a following on S143.

Funny you should mention that, it was the "renowned local product" that resulted in me moving to Crewe and as such has quite a large presence in my collection. I look forward to sharing them with you

Yup, its been my place of employment for almost 5 years. I'm a design check engineer (physical packaging validation of every single chassis, powertrain and exterior hardware component). I have to validate any design change/update, ensuring it conforms to our quality standards and is fit for manufacturing / production prior to tooling release... Essentially its building a 1:1 scale model relying heavily on our 3D printers :D Part of my responsibilities also include running and maintaining our 3D printer fleet too. I feel very privileged to work there, its such a unique job and I love it :)

Welcome aboard.
Maybe I ought to get you to autograph my Dyson Benters, you being a celebrity and all.
Try to wedge you in between Guy Smith and Chris Dyson...

You are almost instantly the envy of at least a dozen denizens of our little fiefdom.

You ought to be quite comfortable hereabouts.
