My latest 18s

Postby zimbo » Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:54 pm

Well I wasnt really wanting to get this in this colour, BUT I found this one going on ebay for a pretty good price and after putting in my second bid I ended up owning this for a great price so I cannot complain and I am glad to finally have another 18 scale addition to my collection :D and the fact that it's a Ferrari is the cherry on the cake

Has been seen in the forums here a couple of times already too.

I was originaly wanting the white version Simon, so I would then have it in 43 and 18 but I'm still pretty happy with this red version, never know a white one may turn up as well if the price is right :D

That's a really good model Alistair. I really like these. Shame the BTCC versions have been canned for now

Brilliant model, seen a few on display at the model shows and they look brilliant. The BTCC version is awesome but a shame it costs so much in comparison.

Great Volvo Alistair....as you say, the ONLY colour for this car.

I pass a 1:1 like this on my way to Andy's.......seems almost abandoned, which is a great shame.

Love the car, could pass on that color but its worth getting the big banana as the model is so damn nice.

Like it or not that was absolutely the colour for this car in 1:1. For a square estate it manages to be a good looking thing.

There are not many Volvo's that I like but that is one of them. I was actually looking to see if I could find a 850 R last week as I'm trying to make up my mind on whether to buy a new car or spend it on my Vectra. The model looks great and carries that colour very well.

The Ferrari's Rosso Corsa looks stunning against that countertop background! Lovely pic!

I know many people covet this Volvo wagon...remember the talk over at scale18.com some time ago. Not my thing but looks beautifully crafted. The panel fit is so good, it almost looks like a sealed model  Surprised Otto hasn't done a Volvo like this...or any Volvo for that matter.

Thanks for all comments gents, I too am not a Volvo fan but this one for some reason seems to be the ONLY one I do like, probably something to do with the fact that I have a liking of estate cars (since first learning to drive in a Zephyr 6 estate ), and watching them racing in the BTCC at Knockhill all those many years ago has probably helped its case too.

Would love to have had a shot of one to see how they handle becasue they do look like big and there-by assuming it might handle like a barge :?

There is still a saloon version in this yellow colour around my area which I see every now and then and a red estate as well (with the charcoal coloured wheels) and they both still look great today

Todays arrival of a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 in yellow, it has a little black paint blemish on the yellow bodywork which I can live with as it's not huge and there is also a tiny piece of dust or something on the inside of the rear window which I cant remove because its a sealed model and I dont want to bang it around either to loosen it incase I break it seeing as its pretty thin perspex used for the glass :( , will just have to pretend that I have not seen it

Image

Just realised my last two 18 scale arrivals have both been yellow  thats wierd.

What has been seen cannot be unseen.
But it can be forgotten about. Just focus on the 99.5% of the car that is perfect

 ...dont know if I should be thanking you for that comment or not Jeff :P

Adam gets a thank you though  its a bit darker than its come out in the photo Adam, price was a no brainer for me, then recently the black version and now an orange one have come out , but never mind I still love this SLS.

Hopefully one day someone will make a proper version of a race version with livery and all and openning doors etc etc because I'd really LOVE to get my hands on something like that.

Hi Alistair,
Was unaware that Minichamps produced 1/18th scale sealed models.
Is it resin? Thanks.
Cheers and Happy Collecting,

Hi Steve, neither did I and yes it is resin, but being in the mid-late double didget figure for an 18 scale I couldn't say no, especially since its the only one of the 3 colours available that has the black wheels as well

Thanks guys, it was toughish decision to choose between this one and the white version, BUT I liked the way you could see the white original colour of the inside of the car and along with the black outer bodywork, and the yellow headlights stand out a lot better on this black version IMHO :D
