Yes I do but not in a cabinet.

In my study I have repro BOAC posters and an original water colour painting of a BOAC Comet.
Do you sometimes feel it's best not to ask?

I imagine there are all sorts of treasures waiting to be discovered in the Chapel.

I used to have all my planes out and hope to again.

Can't believe i missed this therad

Some very nice piece's , i have to say i am considering dumping my 1:72's in favour of 1:144 scale due to one plane and space saving!
Plane in question? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZi3YN7mH2k&feature=related

1:144 is the best scale in my eyes although 1:100 makes more sense.
1:72 takes up way to much space.

Timely revival of this thread, folks. And here I am with two 1:72s and a growing bunch of 1:500 micro-model planes. I like all your planes, Jeff, but that Comet is a very sweet thing.

@Jeff: Even I have this bug creeping into me at times to start an aeroplane collection, complete with airport mat and all. The only aircarft I have is a 1:250 Boeing 747-400, in British Airways livery (reg. G-CIVM).

Nice planes there!

If Jeff/Andy would like to amalgamate this thread with Ozmac' posts and my MG's Aries I wouldn't object, although Jamie's and my collections also contain 1/72, 1/48, 1/400 & 1/500 !
Just call it the aero/air plane topic ?

Edit let's see your 1/250 747.
Cheers,
David

You have some nice Aircraft models. Loving the Air Force 1!

I have question on scales of airplanes. I am not familiar with aircraft in general nor the its scale system but I would like to know what scale would fit 1/64 scale cars in more realistic way? There are a few planes I would like to get in my collection but since most of my collection is 1/64 scale cars, I would like them to compliment each other. Now, I will warn you I am not a aviation type of person. I only know a few planes and those are the ones I am looking for. Here are the list of planes I want and maybe someone can help this ignorant non flying person.... :D

Ones that come to mind.
SR-71 Blackbird
F-117 Nighthawk
F-22 Raptor
F-4U Corsair
F-14 Tomcat

Help Please!

I think 1/72 would fit the bill. It is the most popular of scales and all aircraft mentioned should be available as diecast.
Cheers,
David
