Shizuoka 2017 Hobby Show

Post by dbonser » Thu May 11, 2017 11:43 pm

Boost Gear's coverage is at the following link. The way they did the photos is a little weird in that you have to click on tiny thumbnails to see the larger images. Better than nothing I suppose and some things not seen in Nuremburg.

These Ebbro Sunnys are very tempting:

Finally some good news for rally fans! I was getting disappointed by the KidBox section as everything in that section has been available for years now and then I came across this. I never thought I would see the 1974 & 1976 Safari Rally winners made.

Romu Romu has a Spark section that I do not see in Boost Gear's report: http://www.romu-romu.com/site/report/20 ... a/P01.html

Nice to see the Premium Classixxs Martini transporter finally make an appearance (even if the general consensus is that its a fantasy model) :

When I saw the pic the first thing that I thought was "FANTASY!". But boy does it look good!

Good sign that more and more Japanese cars are coming in 1/43, for example Daihatsu Charade :)

A few great models shown here, that's way better than the Nuremberg Toy Fair.

Awesome, thanks Douglas! The safari Lancers do hit me in the sweet spot. Glad someone's finally making them, they fill a gaping hole in my Safari collection. Who distributes Cam@ btw? Never seen them here.

Kind of a major oversight for Boost Gear to miss the Spark booth. Still, judging from Romu Romu's coverage, there doesn't seem to be that much to talk about :(

The white ignition Rx3 looks sublime..defiantly chose the right colour for pre-order and the green Rx7 is tempting too.

slightly dissappointed with the Make Up stand regarding new/unannounced racers. Nothing new from them in that area, fortunately they have a few new road cars on display that are of interest. It seems MU are focusing on Japanese tuner cars at the moment
Also the Ignition stand had a few interesting racers on display. The From A Porsche 962 caught my eye

And if I'm not mistaken..having a few Iggys..the 1/43 are on leather bases and the 1/18 on a carbon fibre look base so

The sample coupe in the background looks extremely exciting to my eyes :D :D :D

A MUST have..

As far as I know no one distributes CAM@ in the states. It think maybe they are some offshoot of Kid Box :?: but it's nearly impossible to order from them. I plan to try Boost Gear as they are they easiest to order from.

Dang! That coupe does look crazy good. I'm digging the white 1:43 as well.
