Green tires?
Yes, that's the point, however pointless Greenlight might be on this one. And I'll second Luc's assertion that they are awfull! Maybe even worse than all that gold-plated crap we saw 10-15 years ago.

Here are some more...

You know why Italians speak with their hands? Because they have to work a lot on their engines.

The Greenlights that come like that with green Tires/tyres and metallic green bases are VERY rare "Chase" pieces produced by Greenlight and are called "Greenmachines"
I cant recall the exact figure BUT I think it is apparently 1% of castings are given the greenmachine treatment and are numbered as well.

They are highly sought after in the collecting world. I personally own two pieces like this and count myself very lucky to even have these.

...and it's not just in 1:64 scale they apparently do them in 43rd and 18 scales too, 64th scale is fine for me.

If anyone ever sees one of these when they are out shopping, please grab it for me and I will send you the money for it :D

Just type in Greenlight greenmachines and see what the greenlight website page says about them ;-)

Greenlight trying to get in on the craze generated by the HW Treasure hunt models? I can't see this being a success, though.

The models are OK but why yet another Beetle or C4? There are huge amounts of cars that never made it to 1:43 and I'm pretty sure that they would sell enough to make a success if they choose well.

Maybe it would be better if they had made special green body colour or special green stripes etc. for the cars instead of green tires. I seem to remember some article though that real tires could be also made in any colour, what if real cars start appearing with green tires... :?

They do, These special editions can also be found with special metallic green body paint instead of the green tyres/tires. Even rarer still so i believe is a version that comes with RED tyres/tires!! BUT I believe the rarest of all to be found is an all green version with green body, green tyres/tires and green interior!!

So there you all go, you've all learnt something new today, whether its useful to you or not....

There a few you tube clips of aussie burnouts with cars with red or blue tyres or at least a compound that makes for colourful burnout smoke.

Or red-wall tires

Of course, white used to be fairly standard.
