British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Cheers chaps. I did originally get it with the silver wheels and was happy, then the black wheeled version came out too

Love the history lesson Danny! I think I have an example of most generations, I just need a 901 for a decent price...

In the coupé line up I added the Carrera 2.7 from 1974

History lessons part 3.
the targa`s

The first targa`s came on the market in 1967 with a removable rear window
Image

In 1969 the optional glass window became standard
Image

at the introduction of the new G series was also a targa Here the carrera3.0 from 1977
Image

the SC from 1978
Image

the 3.2 Carrera from 1989 with front spoiler
Image

and as WTL from 1989
Image

The targa was also available as Turbo here a 1983
Image

The 964 targa was available as Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 late 1989
Image

The 993 was introduced in 1993 and the targa in it`s old shape was ditched, in favour of a big glass sunroof.
Image

the 996 has the same glass sunroof, but only at the introduction of the mk2
Image

the 997 had a targa version right away in 2006
Image

and in 2008 as targa 4
Image
or targa 4S
Image

In 2013 came the targa version of the 991 and finally it look like a targa again, here as targa 4
Image
and as targa 4S
