British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Just trawled through this thread to make sure I haven't already posted here. Don't think I have, so a few old-timers, in no particular order

And I'm not sure who drove this Vanwall, but as a kid I probably loved the look of this one the most!

Another wonderful bunch Bruno. I quite like the short-sidepod look of this era. And a Ferrrai Constrcutors Championship that year :D

It's kind of an unique year in terms of design. Cars looked like a pencil, especially the Tyrrell.

IMHO the Prost F1s were always good looking racing cars, as is shown by this shot.

Ferrari is OK as well :D

M23s are nice Bruno.

I remember someone converted one to run in F5000 races in the 70s over this way - they put a Leyland V8 in the back of it.

The M23s are my favorites in this batch too, Martin. Not just because their engine covers are removable, but also because of the 70's design.

You are probably right in regards to the converted F5000. It was very common at that to buy a kit car and run on other series. The 70's were also cool because pretty much anyone could buy suspension, chassis and engine kits, build its own car and race on 4 or 5 different series around the globe.
