I have one of those Schabak Golfs. (Recent garage sale acquisition.) It's the GTI, but in red. Has the original packaging too.

Using this thrift store find 1:43 slot car track, I created this series called 80's Track Day. Although the slot car track doesn't look very realistic, I find that photographing models on them adds a sense of motion.

what if you covered the track with sheets of wet/dry sandpaper?
