Mountain Highway Circa 1963

ImageBackground Paintings of Mt Rainier by Papa Dick by Michael, on Flickr

Papa Dick is a local painter in his 70's who has produced a large inventory of landscape paintings that he is selling for $10 a piece. I bought two this weekend and I am happy with the effect. This series was a trial run with using these paintings as a backdrop.

A nice change for you from cityscapes. Beautifully painted backdrops.

That '57 Ford sure likes to have its picture taken, it really shines n the shadow of the mountain.

ImageCologne V4 and V6 Owners Club Autumn Tour by Michael, on Flickr

The theme to this diorama is a Autumn outing for a mythical Cologne V4 and V6 Owner's Club.

This is the first detailed diorama I have done since I bought my most recent camera -- a Canon Power Shot ELPH 180 and I must say that it's reluctance to focus on small items is noticeably worse that the previous ELPHs I've had. It isn't that it can't focus, it just won't, more than 50% of the time.

The star of the event in the original car to use the Cologne engine -- the 1962 Mustang . Only two were made and I think only one still exist and is owned by the Henry Ford Museum.

Parking was tight.

You know why Italians speak with their hands? Because they have to work a lot on their engines.

Love that barn. I think this is my favorite setting that you have done.

Thanks all. I didn't do any interior photos of the barn this time, but it works great both inside and out. Here is a photo that I took in 2014.

Yeah, these are the good one. It's possible to get good photos with this camera, just hard (hit and miss).
