From the archives, here is the first use of the packaging material buildings in a whimsical diorama setup by me and my oldest daughter (when this sort of stuff still interested her).

Drawing from real life situations adds that touch of realism to your dioramas. I love going through this thread and looking at all the pictures, I've done it a few times already.

Here is another sort of drawn from real life.

This all-Ford reenactment generated an undue (in my opinion) amount of interest on Flickr. Here is the caption I provided.

Due to the huge number of views and likes for this photo, I thought that I should provide some context. I have a growing collection of 1:43 scale Fords of all nationalities and I enjoy creating dioramas with them using O-scale railroad accessories as back ground. Recently I have begun trying to approximate street scenes found in current and historical photos. This diorama is based on a photo that I took in Shelton, Washington in 2014. Because I only collect scale Ford’s, when recreating a street scene I have to translate the vehicles in the actual photos into the Fords in my collection. When picking the models to place in a picture I have to decide if I am going to limit my selection to the types of Fords sold in the county that the original photo is from, or use a fantastically unlikely mix of models sold in mutually exclusive markets (as I have done here).

I was off of e-bay for most of August, and when I checked back in I discovered that may of the items that have been on my list, where coming up at reasonable prices. Exhibit A is Dave's Super Service by Cornerstone. I know that a number of 1:43 collectors use this nice building for their displays and now I've caught up.

I was happy to discover that the roof of both the garage and the office are removable. I'm going to have to come up with an interior for the office.

Great photos, as usual! ;)

...and so many nice models! I'm surprised that Ixo hasn't released regular, non PW versions of that cool '66 Ford. :(

Recently I went to a model train show and swap meet and brought home some new props for my diorama projects. The most interesting piece is probably this big red barn. I decided to try a diorama of a classic Ford collector's barn full of cars and the photo shoot just evolved into something else from there.

A recreation of a photo from a German Ford meet call Ford Freundes.

From there I continued the Ford Freunde theme, but it is really related to Tuchen photo.

It's not just the setting of the models, but the figurines and the picture angles combined that make this such a treat to watch. Excellent.
