Labor Day Marque and Nations Sale

Post by Automodello » Wed Aug 29, 2012 10:48 pm

On Thursday there will be the 2nd half of the sale delivered. This is the Marques and Nations:
12LotusDay for Lotus
12MBDay for Mercedes-Benz
12ItalyDay for Italian cars
12Serbia for Serbian cars

In these categories all items are 20.12% off through 9/4/2012. Some items are quite limited and will not be restocked. If an item is sold-out, a coupon code will be issued for the item's value to use in the future on http://www.diecasm.com. Coupon codes can't be combined, so multiple orders are required. Diecasm may combine multiple orders at our discretion.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Jim

12Serbia for Serbian cars
I didn't even know there were Serbian cars  I'm guessing they're IST cars?

Joking aside, looks like an even sweeter sale than before! Will be scanning the pages closely for something new.

Serbia was formerly known as Yugoslavia where low and behold they produced a car called Yugo. The Yugo was at one time the lowest priced car in America, having been imported by Malcolm Bricklin.

Malcolm you may know as the father of the Bricklin Safety Vehicle One which lasted from 1974-1976. Prior to Bricklin, he imported the Subaru 360.

In celebration of Malcolm Bricklin's involvement with both the Bricklin and the Yugo, Diecasm created the Tribute to Malcolm Bricklin which includes a Safety Red Automodello Bricklin SV1 and the Red IST Yugo.

Hope this helps,
Jim

Yes is does Jim, and now I'm frankly embarrassed  I'm old enough to remember all of the Yugo/Bricklin details but I was a bit rusty, or perhaps I'll admit ignorant, about the Yugoslovian/Serbian connection.

I've seen those Yugo/Bricklin set pieces, very interesting! Who is putting this combo with two different model brands together? Automodello I presume rather than IST? Either way, they both do admirable work for their price points!

I still don't have a 1:43 Bricklin - this car actually means something personally to me since I can recall many lively phone conversations with it's designer Herb Grasse about 20-23 years ago when he sold auto literature. Really interesting man that we lost in 2010 :(
