Thanks, was pleased with how it turned out, have started to lower most of my Vanguard models.
Tom wrote:Golf is v.nice, might have to get that myself.
I was pleased with it, may have to lower it a bit too, it's not too bad but the wheels/tyres are wrong.
What's wrong with the Golf wheels?
The wheels are too small, so the tyres are the wrong profile and are road tyres.

I have a picture of the real car somewhere which I will post when I find it.

A couple of projects I am working on, the first is a Cleland Cavalier I got from ebay, I know the wheels are incorrect and there are some other bits that need doing, I may keep but I may have sourced a replacement, so will wait and see.

The other is a pre-painted Jemmpy kit of the BMW M3 of Tim Harvey which I am currently working on, completed pictures to follow soon...

Very nice Cavalier. I take it this is a modification of the earlier version that was so poorly done by Corgi Vanguards?
I can think of probably 10 or so different Cavaliers/Vectra A's from all over the world that raced through 1995 in this form (Aero kitted).
Why is nobody interested in making them. I would've thought this was right up both Spark and Minichamps alley????

Thanks Les, it is a modification from the 1992 Version I think. I did not make it was one I got from ebay.

It is a shame that Neo/Minichamps/Spark can't do it as it is an iconic car for the BTCC.

That's right, but also from South and North America, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, South Africa and Japan. It defies my understanding as this could rank amongst the all time best selling models, yet nobody wants to make them. The above nations/regions fielded as many as 14 or so cars between them and then there were the 4+/- Touring Car World Cup cars of 1995 too. Then add the 4 BTCC contenders. That's at least 22 models from 1 casting, do they need anymore clues????

I do indeed mean like these. Nobody ever made any of the official model cars in 1:43 die cast and the resin kits were few in number and are very rare. There are MANY collectors who would love to own these and as I have already said, a manufacturer could make around 22 different versions from just 1 mould. I cannot see any reason why Spark in particular are not interested as this would be a sell out item by my reckoning.

I mean, do they even look at forums like this one????

I can source as many as anyone needs... full and complete kits. Decals at extra cost.

Hmmm I wonder if it'll be a price I can manage as I'd love Cleland's 1995 car. It is my ultimate holy grail for sure.

Me too, and others thetrooper. This is my point, why oh why is this model STILL not on any makers radar even though SO many of us want it. The best year ever for the Cavalier and not marked with a 1:43 model en masse.

Around the £50 mark per kit. Maybe less if bought in bulk.

Loving the Chilton 2007 Vectra conversion. Oxford really should've made both the Chilton and Menu 2007 Vectra's not to mention the 2009 Trio of Giovanardi, Neal and Jordan. To me that is a complete lack of vision. Hey-ho.

I like the Nissan a lot. I'm not keen on Chilton, but can see the conversion looks good.

Cheers guys, the Chilton Vectra was one of Matt's conversions, still don't like the Oxford Vectra's then Steve?

I think Vauxhall comissioned Oxford to do the 2007 and 2008 Vectra's, shame they didn't do the 2009 one's.

Agreed, especially as it was "The Griffin's" last year as a Works team. Maybe Vauxhall didn't like the detail and quality of Oxford's efforts also. These models could've been so much more, if only the effort were put in.

I want to do Andy Jordan's Pirtek Vectra's. It's just on the back burner at the moment.

WOW. What a super pair, especially the Cavalier. I see that the Vectra is a ONYX conversion but can you tell me how the Cavalier came to be? :D
