I like both but it's been ages since I've last seen the Mercury Lancia. Nice find, and in great condition!

Odd looking suspension on this one, gives a horse drawn carriage look to it !
I wouldn't want to be the chauffeur on a cold, wet nights drive back from the theatre !

From the days when driving was barely a step up from the horse-drawn carriage... nice looking models, quite brightly coloured. I think I have the NAG in my collection too.

Actually released in 1965 but has 1963 on baseplate due to chassis being the same as used on a similar model with hood up. However, this was issued in 1964!

Hood down number 137 - hood up 132. Both models had a long run being discontinued in 1981 but re-issued briefly as Verem in the late 1980’s. An all time classic die-cast.

A wonderful model and one of my favourites as I have over a dozen of them in my collection including a Verem version.

Thanks for the info Chris, 63 did seem a little early to me, but didn't even think about the chassis being used on an earlier model, learn something
new every day on here.

Really like both the Jaguar and the Mercedes. I was offered an identical Jag in good condition (like yours) for EUR 10 last week, but decided to pass. Somewhat sorry now.

Been quite awhile since my last roadcar entry. Now that summer is over :( I'll have
time to do a entry each weekend. Have a lot of new old diecast to catch up on :D
Newly acquired, didn't expect to like this one as much as I do, the car
looks much better in person then on photos.

I've seen that model countless times and I like it a lot too. Since vintage Dinky and Corgi stuff is now getting to be affordable (if, like me, you don't care for packaging and the odd chip) I might even add this one to the collection later.

Does seem that Dinky's are coming down in price a little Tom, and no I don't mind the odd chip, it means to me it was enjoyed by someone back in the day. The Dinky boxes are really nice, but not that important, I have a couple, that's enough. Overall I try to get the best I can without going out of budget, and looking around on ebay I do find some really good prices at times - this Austin was just $10 USD

It's too bad that Twan55 never ventured past his own nose. He would have enjoyed this thread as I do. I prefer the playworn models and have no need for boxes either. The mint-in-box examples give me chills, as I think there's something psychologically off about a toy car that has never acquired a few chips via a multi-car pileup on an imaginary motorway.

The great thing about these older Dinkys is that they were made with metal bumpers instead of plastic. They survived years of play without major damage this way.

Model features opening boot with spare wheel / tire, a nice touch.
I mainly collect Dinky / Old Solido / Mercury but couldn't resist this model for $5.
