With the next Daytona race only 2 days away, I did the last sweep thru my collection and realized that I didn't posted one of my most favorite Daytona models. Well, I did actually, but only as an background for the winner Porsche 917/Rodriguez. So here is 1970 3th finisher Ferrari 512s driven by Andretti/Merzario/Ickx. This car was the fastest qualifier of the race.

This is an older Tecnomodel and still my most favorite 512 model I have

It will not surprise you Jerry, but I think this one is just perfect - classic 70s Ferrari in red with gold wheels and with a stellar driver lineup.

Lovely looking car and as the "3th" place finisher, one of the more successful 512's. I wonder if we'll see Looksmart do this one ?

Martin, I'm not surprised at all ;) I too like the 512s Ferraris more, then their smoother 512m upgrades.

Thanks Ian. I would love to see Looksmart to do this one:

That would be very welcome. In the meantime, there is a reasonable model of this car in the Ferrari Partworks collection.

Wonderful car and model. And as has already been said, a great car for your collection.

I've got the 1984, 1995, and 2005 winners in addition to the '86 winner that has already been posted.

I'm not a big fan of the Daytona prototypes, but really like the Kremer K8's and this one looks pretty good in all yellow.

I'm in total agreement with Ian, yellow Kremer looks great! I also disliked Daytona prototypes and I'm overjoyed that they are gone.
Matt, thanks for adding those3 models. Jerry
