This isn't 43rd scale but it is one of my top 10 favourite racing cars, in this case because I was there and witnessed JJ Lehto blow everyone away during the night in the rain, without a properly functioning wiper, but lots of Rain-ex. The is the latest 18th scale offering from TrueScale and it's pretty good.

F1 McLaren is just about perfect. Makes me longing for all (3) 1:18 McLarens I sold approx. 3 years ago

Back to 43rd and another courage in the post yesterday.

This is the C36 from 1996 of andretti, lammers and warwick. Spark again and a very nice addition.

Its taken Spark a long, long time to produce these Courages (first announced 4 years ago in the 2012 catalogue ?).

At least it was worth the wait. This one looks great and I'm pleased I pre-ordered one.

Miscellaneous Courages never had an appeal for me but these two have had my attention for a couple of years now. Glad they have been released and look good ;)

As I review this thread I not only appreciate how the cars aerodynamics have evolved through the years but also their
more colorful livery.
The cars are just so much more interesting to view and explore now, especially with their curious aero shaping detailing.
Cheers and Happy Collecting,
Steve

Hi guys
Who is the best maker for the 1998 911 GT1 Le mans winner?
Spark vs Minichamps.

Neither.

See if you can find the HPI version with the removeable engine cover and engine detail :

I agree with Jager. The HPI models are pretty good as long as you get one with a properly fitting body.

I have the minichamps version which I bought quite early in my collection. As a general rule I prefer Spark over Minichamps.

Incredible collection. You've inspired me to start a 1/43 collection of Le Mans winners in my lifetime (94 onwards). Struggling to decide where to begin. I see you have a book online, do these pictures all still correspond to the models listed in that?

In general, Yes.
I photograph each model when it arrives, They aren't all pictured in the forum and the book is kept up to date on computer but published only once a year. So the online version is quite out of date. I need to reprint soon and will post when its done. Page 4 of this Topic has the index pages from the last edition.

I haven't posted any new acquisitions for a while so I thought I would post the latest model index from the book I keep of my Le Mans models.
These are arranged in chronological order.

Superb Tim. 87 XJR8, 89 XJR14 and 96 F1 GTR LM are my standouts from that excellent selection.

Great collection Tim. I counted about 30 models that are missing from my own collection.....mostly the handbuilts or things like the BBR Gasoline 512's which I'm hoping TSM will get to in the coming years.

Thanks for posting the index Tim, very helpful for me just starting off.

I can certainly see why so many of your recent purchases are Spark, my 2011 #2 Audi R18 arrived today, the whole package (car, box, stand) is so superior compared to my R8's from Ixo and Minichamps.

Your books make me want to do a similar thing as a collection index, shame that I now lack the time to do it properly. Should've done it when I was unemployed. :?

Great collection!

I can't find spark 911 GT1 so i've just purchased minichamps. HPI's price is above my allowed budget....
