Looking forward to seeing what you do with these.

As we were discussing recently on another thread, I've never been convinced by the shape of BBR's 550's and 575's....the glasshouse seems a bit high and a bit short at the rear. Maybe yoru model maker can overcome these issues (if in fact they are issues) by converting it into a 575 Superamerica :

Hi Ian,

As of now, I will allow the progress of the build to take its course, and go from there...

I have confidence in the builder he will construct the 575M as best he can, and improve/correct in areas that he sees fit.... :)

Unfortunately, I have no interest in the Superamerica version, so will have the kit built direct with some minor upgrades... :D :D

He has built a number of these 575's over the years, and even mentioned specifically that he takes enjoyment in building them.... :) :)

We will wait and see....:)

I'm interested in the 430 as it's one of my favourite Ferrari's. What colour have you chosen for it?

Well, here they are, after so patiently waiting.... :D :D

First up....

The 575M....Was deciding between having it finished in gloss black or baby blue.....

Think I made the correct choice in going with the latter....:)

Now, for the 16M....

I had already made the commitment to having it done in a blue, but did not know whether to have it in a light or medium shade...(tough decision)

Upon searching the net for some ideas, I came across, what is perhaps, the most stunning Porsche Carrera GT ever...( my opinion, of course)....:)

This jaw-dropping tuned version by Gemballa...The Mirage GT...finished in Cobalt Blue (from information I had gathered)

So I kindly asked the Master (a.k.a Rosso43) to throw at me some options...

It didn't need to be a "Ferrari" color...

I was presented with these 3...

Image

Went with the first one on the left since it appeared to be the closest match...

Name of the color is "Blu Summer", which just happens to be a Ferrari color...( bonus)

Needless to say, I am more than happy with my decision...

Some process pictures of the new headlight lenses...way better fit than the factory one's...:)

Thanks for looking!

Till next time!

I like the baby blue 575 as a 1:43, but if you turned up to a Ferrari owners meeting with a 1:1 in that colour I think you'd laughed at.

Both excellent models Tommy and very well built indeed. My pick is the 575 and I really like the colour a lot
Andy

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Thank you, reeft1.. :)

Yes, but only if you showed up to a show back in early 2000 when the car was first released.. :D

It would be the laughingstock for sure, especially to those purists...

Today, it would be well received overall....And dare I say, even a top attraction at most meets...

I think the color does not work for many, but the Maranello pulls it off quite handsomely... :D :D
