On my tiny phone screen they look quite shiny already.
Of course it's shiny 8-) But I always try to achieve a real "car paint" gloss, that means shiny, but no "glass" or "acrylic" gloss, and that requires polishing in many steps for hours. This time I started with MicroMesh 3600, then 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000 and final machine buffing with liquid polish.

I agree. You are a dab hand with the soray gun Jean.
Always trying my best, but believe me, I still can't sleep at night before I'm going to paint a model...

Looks fantastic. Black over blue is still my favourite Bugatti combo.

Stunning. The spats give it a really different look.

And I'm glad that I decided to take the third one, the open Stelvio, additionally so that I can show both options, with and without spats. Generally I think that this type usually had spats.

Painting is - of course - one of the main works for each car, in German you'd say "the car stands and falls with its paint" ;) And so I'm very happy that this effort came to a good end!

Thanks! I really do hope so, this is the starting point and the core for my T57 subject, perhaps we'll remember this twenty years later when I'm finishing the last ones... :)

Yesterday I planned some more p/e parts, and today I made three sheets (the third one for my restoration projects):

Image

It's always a little bit fuzzy to make dozens of those rings for one (!) car, on the other hand this leads to really "lean" wheels compared to the p/e wheels you can buy from different manufacturers.

The two halves for the spoke wheels are mounted:

Thanks! I haven't made any spoke wheels for a long time and I hope that these will turn out great :) It's always tricky to do those wheels this way, the advantage in this case is the fact that the wheels will be painted black and therefore some irregularities will hardly be visible

Finished p/e sheet:

And the results, the interior door panels for the Ventoux with the typically T57 pockets:

The wheel discs got two additional rings and I'm quite satisfied now with their look:

The disc wheels suit these Bugs better in my opinion but I'm sure they'll all, disc and wires, look fantastic.

I took a photo of a T57 and made the screen-drawing directly over it to catch - as possible - the dimensions exactly according to the original. I hope that I'll make the door panels for the Stelvio over the weekend, so that works can go on, soon... :)

You know, I simply love disc wheels :D Sometimes I'm thinking about making all my models with disc wheels, independent from the original cars...! The wire wheels for the T57 look a little bit old-fashioned due to the long spokes and the small wheel center. In 1934 most of the manufacturers already made much shorter spokes and bigger hubs which look rather progressive.

Thanks! It was necessary to add the extra ring to the disc for a deeper relief. The original discs show - of course - a kind of "round-relieved" rings which I cannot make, but with the extra rings and some layers of clear lacquer I hope they will look great! :P

All rims are clear-lacquered know:

Imagine: I planned to complete 11 wheels this morning, and make some other things on afternoon, and now it's evening and I've only completed four wheels  ! Sometimes you can hardly imagine how many hundred and thousand steps are necessary to finish only some details... However, that's the look of the disc wheels:

And here we have the wire wheels for the open Stelvio:

Image

As I planned, both wheels have exactly the same tire, wire and disc rims have the same diameter, so that all T57s feature wheels with the same measurement:
