Do tell me more, Tom! I made the purchase precisely because I thought the subject matter obscure and interesting.

Obscure indeed, this is the only one I've ever seen. I don't know who did the conversion.

Here is my 'choppped' MC coupe. I am tempted to put wires on as per Tom's pic!

David

Your Minichamps conversion is breathtaking! Did you undertake the conversion yourself?

I remember seeing this very neat job previously and complimenting David on his skills with a hacksaw. :D

The XJC was converted by Steve Tebenham not me!
He can be contacted via:-

toyfayre@gmail.com

Just mention David Jackson. All you do is supply the model and he gets chopping!
Cheers,
David

Steve certainly made a first class job of it. Kudos to him!

And here's my latest acquisition, bought s/h - but apparently in mint condition - for what appears a fair price (pending delivery and closer scrutiny):

It sits a little low but otherwise it looks good.

Thanks Tom!

It is, of course, SMTS' interpretation of the XJ-S (or the 'XJS' as they refer to the model)

Two from me. Brooklins. Have to put the mascots. I don't like the color of the sharknose, in my country, we have similarly colored drink - "Boza" Probably I will switch to silver at some point. The LaSalle is perfect to my taste.

This conversion looks awesome :o ! Beautiful car and model, although I prefer the limousine or the coupé. However, to change a die-cast into a such goodlooking interpretation requires a true master-modeller, congratulations! :P

SMTS? Is this the same make as from Western Models? Recently I restored a WM:

Image
p/e badge on bonnet, black-washed grille, transparent winkers

Image
p/e Jaguar sign, authentic British licence plate, newly made taillights, drilled-out exhaust pipes

Image
chromed and painted pillars, restored trim-line

Beautiful! Brooklin is still a class of its own! I made up my mind for years if I should buy the Graham. Finally I haven't as I mainly collect one-offs. Perhaps I should convert it into the Saoutchik convertible, once in a time...

Great work! Shame that the windows have yellowed so badly.

Your restoration looks fantastic!

I'll stop short of jealousy, but I do feel envy!

Congratulations! Beautiful models :P The Pierce Arrow was the very first model of Brooklin, and you can easily see that it was created with
knife & fork at the kitchen table  , it's a different car from the right- and the left-hand side, and overall it shows only few similarities to the original car. But what can I say? I own two of this, and I also bought a nice & neat one from Altaya which is made very authentic, but guess which one I am going to build for my collection once in a time... ;)

Like 'em all, with the Chrysler, Vplvo and Pierde Arrow as my favourites. The Volvo would be even better with a suitable application of Bare Metal Foil.

My collection grew a little bit during the last time... After every car I buy I always think "that was the very last one - for ever!" - but it usually takes only a couple of weeks until I find something thrilling which I definitely must have for my collection... Recently I bought this Alfa Romeo 8C, I guess it's made by John Day. Actually it's a little bit too small, probably around 1:48

Normally I'm not interested in touring cars at all, but I discovered this sketch by Carrozzeria Touring:

...and I immediately thought "that would be a wonderful conversion project"...

I guess meanwhile I have to get 108 years old to complete all the scheduled projects... :)

I'd consider making it myself if I were you. Not much will be left in the end anyway. The car in the picture is beautiful.

The Alfa-Romeo 8C would be a fabulous project! Such a sensual shape!
