I had a school boy crush on this car, I really thought it was something while at the end of grammer/beginning of Jr High.
What sort of price tag for this one, David?

Off eBay it cost about £20. But to order a new one you are looking at £60.
I suppose it was relatively cheap because of the mediocre colour

I always loved this car and I have this model in dark blue. It's not bad for the time it was made but this is a car that surely needs to be made again to today's standards. Unfortunately model makers seem to have only heard of one AC, so this along with the beautiful 428 from the late sixties seem unlikely to be made again.

I'm really looking forward to the Monteverdis (they're making the 375L too) and I may be mistaken, but I think the bloke who's behind Neo was also behind the (now defunct?) Replicars range which made a 428 in the nineties. The problem with that one (apart from the cost) was that it totally failed to catch the elegant lines of the original and had the ground clearance of Fifty Cent's Hummer!

NEO indeed is a Replicars brand, Replicars is a Dutch shop which comissioned many models from diverse manufacturers. Remember the Spark Jaguar concept series?

Yes Paulius, I think the AC428 was built by SMTS for Replicars and they were always patchy in terms of both quality and body shape. More recently he's been using Spark to great effect but do you know who makes the Neo models now; are they still sub-contracted or are they a self-contained organisation? Whoever it is, is doing a great job and it would be great to see some ACs - they'd sit nicely with the Alvis, Jags and Jensens.

Hi David / Bert One

Would either of you chaps consider parting with your delightful white metal AC 3000 ME models (Bert One - I was the guy that purchased your Enco Jensen FF model - and collected in person).

Nick

Hello Nick. Pleased to see you took my advice and joined us here on S143! Sorry, but although the AC isn't up to scratch by today's standards it's still the only model available so I'll be hanging onto it. Cant' believe this thread goes back to 2009 and still no sign of a modern model of this enigmatic, pretty car. Come on Autocult, Neo, anyone let's have one - it'll be a surefire seller I promise you.

Hi Nick,
I am the same as Will. I’ll hang on to it until a better one comes along.
Have you tried K&RReplicas?
Cheers,
David

Hi chaps

Thanks for responses and advice dispensed.

BertOne: I'd be delighted to take you op on your kind offer to meet with you and fellow 1:43 enthusiasts sometime over a drink

Sincerely
