Like what? enlighten me to what I'm missing
If you're a true 917 nut you would need the first 917 (the white & green Geneva presentation car), maybe one or two test cars, the 1971 #22 winner (definitively), the first art car (917LH Hippie, from 1970) and the last 917, the 917K/81, that raced in 1981. And that's the one that the stinker is currently busting my balls about, because he just got it and I don't have it.
Well the winners are just a given my friend! I've been looking into the Hippie longtail for a while. But also want that Gulf longtail too.. and I really want that 1981 one you're talking about. There's a few on eBay for sale when I checked last week. Over $100 though. If I can find it, do you want me to PM you the link?
I'm not saying Mopar is superior... I'm just saying they are on an extremely short list that has had their cars banned for dominating a series so hard.

I'm betting (hoping) that Spark will reissue it, since they have been reissuing a few of the old/rare 917s. So unless you're made of money, I think it will pay off to wait some.

You know why Italians speak with their hands? Because they have to work a lot on their engines.

To be fair. I dropped $280 each for my 2x Marsh 1970 AVS Shadows.. so $140 with shipping isn't TOO crazy. But you do have a point. It's highly likely a rerelease is on the horizon. However. I do not like how Spark doesn't put the race numbers on the base anymore. That's part of the reason I prefer the original releases, those had it. The only exception is Pink Pig, because from what I've seen and heard, the rerelease is more accurate than the original. So my ideal would be a new Pink Pig on an old base. But having to buy an old (and expensive at that) Pink Pig just for a base.. meh

I'm sure you caught onto my RX-7s, 717, 737, 757, 767, 767B, 787, and 2 787Bs (Le Mans and WSPC variants) then! Even have an MX-R01 (I know it's the Judd V10), but I'm a sucker for the Renown livery! I'm just missing those damn 727, '87 757, and the '88 767...

Yes I have that non wankel renown for the same reason.. Im missing a few LM ones due to livery being so similar to others or just visualy not appealing.

Well I never. I have just this minute posted about never seeing any younger folk at Toy Fairs these days and along comes Grant. You are most welcome here Grant.

Remember there is a lot of history here ......................... no I'm not talking about the membership but the cars. You can find out stuff here you would never of thought of.

It will be a pleasure to see your collection as it evolves.

That's just it! Being so young, I didn't get to physically see these things race, having them on my wall in miniature scale is the closest I'll get. Although, next year, me and my buddy plan on flying to Spa in Belgium to see the Group C exhibition race. So let's just say that'll be one thing off my bucket list! Next would be the Le Mans classic and a Can-Am exhibition...
