Hello from New Zealand

Post by MT392 »

Hello all
Not a new collector, more returning to the fray... Aside from the early matchbox toys I had when I was a lad I began my interest in 43rd scale models in the early 80's. Initially adopting a scatter gun approach and buying whatever took my fancy I eventually settled into three themes: Jaguars, Group A Touring Cars (that led into adding 2l Tourers) and Australian cars. Around 5-10 years ago the majority was sold (some I regret letting go, and for in some cases low prices).
Fast forward to now and I find myself in a position where what I have isn't hidden in the attic and I only have to justify buying more 'toys' to myself... I can still talk myself out of some purchases luckily.
Now it is just Jaguars and Group A Touring Cars in 43rd scale.
What I have noticed since I returned is that many of the familiar old names are long gone, both manufacturers and sellers. What has stayed the same is that this hobby can keep you broke if you let it!

Welcome fellow kiwi onboard.
Price is a bugbear as is the recent govt GST added over the border to all purchases.

Welcome. Plenty of interest here in Jaguars and Aussie Touring Cars, so you'll fit right in.

Welcome to the forum
Andy

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Welcome to the group. You are spot on about the cost, its madness.
