Dydh da

Post by Stewart Frazer »

Dydh da (Hello) from Cornwall UK
An eBay friend recommended this site and I am looking forward to getting involved.
I started my collections in 1998 and now have 10 in cabinets dotted around our farmhouse. 488 racing cars in total all anorakally logged on spreadsheets. I hope to share them once I get the hang of things especially posting photos.
Thanks
Stewart

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.
Road investment is so poor around here that instead of driving on the left, we get to drive on what's left

Welcome Stewart. There's lots of racing anoraks with spreadsheets here, so you'll fit in just fine.

Looking forward to seeing what you've got.

If you host the pictures somewhere, you can put them between [img] and [/img] tags using the image button above the posting window.

It's showing the link and if you click on it you can see the picture (Nice collection)
I don't know how Imgur works but someone will be along shortly i'm sure who does

You need to insert a link to the URL of the image, not the image itself, and not a link to the imgur page containing the image.

In Firefox:

Expand the image in imgur by clicking on it.

Right-click and choose "Copy Image location".

Paste the link to the image into your post. It will end with the extension of the image type (.jpg or .gif for example).

Double click the link to highlight the text.

Click on the Insert image icon at the top of the text entry field.

Alternately, you can click the Insert image icon first and then paste the link.

Image

Other browsers should be similar.

Imgur is very easy. Open the picture, you'll see the links to the right. Take the last but one, it says 'BBcode'. Choose copy, put the cursor in your message where you want the link, choose paste and you're done.

I don't see those links in my browser. I see one on the left under the "like" heart icon that gives the option to copy the link to the clipboard but it doesn't capture the image link. I'm not using the app (I'm on a Linux PC) so that may be the issue.

At any rate, if the OP is using a PC and a browser the right click "copy image location" will work for any image that isn't copy protected so it may come in handy at some point.

You have to be logged into imgur for that to work, and they have to be your images.

Gotcha. I'm not an imgur user so I didn't see that. Right-click can capture the link for pretty much any image from anywhere.
