Hi everyone, from the UK......

Post by Marcus143 » Sat Oct 25, 2014 6:28 pm

Hi from this new member in Derbyshire, England. I've being visiting this site for a year now, so I thought it's time to join!

My interest in cars started as a young boy in the 1960's

Through the 1970's I had a few model vehicles from the Matchbox, Dinky and Corgi range. I also went to my first motorshow in 1976, wow, loved it, came home with a bag full of new car brochures.

In the 1980's I made up a few 1:24 scale plastic rally car kits.

I stumbled on 1:43 scale last year when I was looking for a model of the car I own now. I found one on ebay. But at the same time, I noticed all the other cars I've loved over the years! So it was with my RAV4, my 1:43 car collection started!

I'm now up to 40 cars in my collection, which are all displayed in a nice cabinate. I like Corgi Vanguards, they are good value for money. I also have IXO and Trofeu stock. I like British road and rally cars. I like Ford cars the most.

This 143scale site is great. I've enjoyed so much looking at other members vehicles. I'm looking forward to posting some pics of my cars soon.

Welcome aboard 'lurker'. Your beginning to diecast collecting seems the way alot of us began. I have a handful of corgi/ vanguards too.

If Fords you prefer, the aussie badged variants are very nice.

Welcome. If you've been visiting us for a year you will see what a diverse but friendly bunch we are and just how addictive this hobby is. Oh, and did you keep your car brochures from the '76 Motor Show? There are at least two brochure collectors on here and maybe a few more.

Welcome to the forum Marcus. Glad to have you aboard

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Not picking on Marcus in anyway, just using his post as an example, I often wonder what becomes of people who introduce themselves and then go silent. It happens all over the internet, just makes me wonder why.
