1/64 Neo prices

Post by sheepCrusher »

I was out for a while. Did I miss something? American Excellence has 1/64 semi trucks ON SALE for $75, down from $90 something. No way! Are they crazy? Looks like nice detail, but no way I could justify that. It’s only the cab as well. Don’t get me wrong they look fantastic! Seems like 1/18 might be the “affordable” scale now.

Strange the price should be so high. Detail must be exceptional-on museum level. Probably, I will never collect at that upper level. But it is interesting to see the market might consider supporting it.

Recently, have been adding to the 1/64 scale collection. Seems to me the best bang-for-the-buck under the current economical conditions. There are die cast I've not found in 1/43. Even at that, with select Greenlight and Matchbox offerings am seeing price creep. Part of it is due to increased postage fees and state tax applied.

Not quite Neo quality, but looked ok for US$5.00 / GBP 3.85 ;) :

First Gear 1:64 trucks are priced accordingly. They are on par with TSM and Spark in quality and detail.
