Road Signature Pontiac Vibe GTR

Bought many years ago for about £15 , this may not have been a popular model , but it was suprisingly good for a Road Signature offering .

Looks good. I had the 007 version, I don't think it was a UT though.

GMP Pontiac GTO Convertible Restomod

GMP did a range of stunning looking restomods and this was just one of the cars I had , but unfortunately after months of ownership I noticed the paint was crazing on various cars , especially on the bonnets and boot lids , so the decision was made to get rid of them all . Ive ever bough a GMP model since then. Unfortunate as their Streetfighter Camaro`s etc were stunning and highly sought after models.

Between GMP's paint and the UT melting wheels it makes one really worry about long term decay of these things.

You arent wrong there Jeff .
I went to give a few of the 1/18s a polish the other day and picked up my 1/18 Anson Cadillac Escalade . I noticed the paintork looked and felt very rough which normally is the first sign of trouble (as on my GMP models). I opened the drivers door which immediately broke off in my hand :o
Tried the bonnet next and sure enough, both mounting points for the hinges cracked in half and the bonnet also came off . The bonnet was so brittle that I could break it into pieces with no pressure at all .

RIP Big Caddy .

Incidentally, its not just the 1/18s that you gotta worry about. I moved a few rally cars out of a cabinet they had sat in for about 2 years and found a 1/43 Norev Peugeot 206 WRC with its floorpan bent like a banana . I thought the chassis was plastic until after applying a small amount of pressure to see if it would straighten out, it shattered into 5 or 6 pieces. Very worrying to think a big lump of our collections could realistically end up in the bin.
