I was at my parents to spray some models this weekend as I do not have any way of extracting fumes in my flat (at the moment at least) and I saw this old boy up on the shelf so got him down to dust and take a picture:

My Dad made this for me, for Christmas in 1986 and it was probably the best Christmas present I've ever had. It was originally made as a sturdy toy for me to run around and play with but it just sits as a nice display piece now and still looks great almost 35 years later :D

More sturdy construction I think and the fact that it had the ready made door stop bumpers.

I'm told that getting the wood to the right shape for the boiler was somewhat of a challenge.

Very nice, still looks like new :) I too still have some wood works from the 80's, that I made at school, but they have some wear and tear by now :P
