I was just making a general comment about values. However, the Healey is available from an Australian seller for approx US$200:

I mean, that's not bad. $190. The only other option is a hand built in France, for $180. Which, I think the bizarre has better quality.. unfortunately he doesn't have it able to be shipped to the USA, only Australia. I shot him a message if he'd do an exception for me... I appreciate the find!
I'm not saying Mopar is superior... I'm just saying they are on an extremely short list that has had their cars banned for dominating a series so hard.

Grant, myself and Martin (Alfaholic) are both in Australia and one of us could probably help you out if the seller won't cooperate.

Good to know! Luckily he said he would ship to me. But I haven't heard back since then.. I'll keep you guys posted if I need your help or not. Which I greatly appreciate. What's irritating is I can't see any of his other auctions, so I can't see if he has anything else interesting for sale :?

I think your wallet is safe from any other carnage - the only other items he has are a 1:1 Weber manifold for a Mini and a 1:12 Kit of an Alfa Romeo 179C at an eye-watering A$480.

A manifold for a Mini? That'll fit perfectly on my 6.4 Hemi!

I forgot how weak the AUS$ is to the USD$ right now, I saw $275, got upset, then saw $191 in parentheses for USD, and sighed a bit. Definitely easier to swallow.. I'm just wondering how much he'll budge since it's a best offer listing..

Tell me about it :( So many times recently I have had items in a "cart" and then when I check the A$ conversion of US$, Euro, GBP, etc. they are swiftly removed and I go and sit in a corner rocking in the foetal position

As Ian has said, let either of us know if you need any help with this seller.

Sounds like a "your loss, my gain" situation . But all jokes aside. I appreciate it man. I still haven't heard back from him. So I might actually need you guys. I'll keep you in the loop. If I do, how should we go about this?

So I just wanted to update you. He got back to me. I talked him down to $175 USD with shipping included. So about $150 for the model, down from $190. I scored! He also said he has A LOT more 1/43s for sale, so I'm waiting for him to get back to me on what he has(we are emailing now). I'm hoping he has my Matra's!

Interesting to know what else he has as he isn’t very active on eBay, though that might have something to do with his prices ;) . It’s certainly a good time to be buying from Australia. I’ve shared Martin’s pain many times, which can become even worse when postage costs to this part of the world. You guys in America have it so easy!

I've never tried this topic  Time to do so :) Almost complete, my collection is still lacking of a couple of white-metals, so if anyone knows anything of how to get one of the following, I'd be so grateful:

Image
Cord L29 "Brooks Stevens", made by MiniMarque, I know that some of the fellows here on S1/43 own this one, but I don't think they'd sell it, so I'm looking for another one only for me...

Image
Packard V12 LeBaron Aero Coupé, made by PTH or later by MiniMarque (?)

Image
Aston Martin Atom, made by GP Mobilia or by SMTS, later also in resin

Image
Duesenberg J Figoni & Falaschi, made by Stylish Cars/Bauschus

So these are the very last models I'm desperately looking for, and you know: ONLY WHITE-METAL accepted :) , no resin-mades by Spark etc. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :P

And on top of that, we don't have to pay any customs fees for them here! It's great! So combine no customs fees, with a strong dollar, and all Euro countries taking off VAT due to being out of the region, it's a blessing!

Regular folks should try eBay, but you?

I'm confident that in the end you'll get a regular-Jean B.-museum-quality model.
