I'm paying through my nose for Bizarre Matra's. I bet those were difficult to move just 5 years ago.

Nope, these have just steadily climbed in value which I still don;t understand why. Even 3 years ago many of the Matra's were achieving three digit Euro prices.

In my mind I've thought that the 1971 Matras are so expensive because some have been featured in the movie Le Mans.

Furai was (and still is) a very attractive model which with it's intricate curves and fins looks mean in matt black and nicely set off by some colourful graphics so I can see the attraction in it as a piece of futuristic car design and beautifully rendered model. I'm glad I tracked mine down a few years ago after it had gone off sale and paid equivalent of Spark retail UK price for it.

By contrast the KB Japan matt black only version looks exceedingly dull. How strange is that?

OVERSTEER - is when you hit the fence with rear part
UNDERSTEER - is when you hit the fence with front part
HORSE POWER - is how fast you will hit the fence
TORQUE - is how far the fence will go with you

Decal placement on this one is a bit off and it's missing an aerial. Overall not a well finished model.

Odd cos the 2 aerials are thread not plastic or wire.

On the others I've seen it has two plastic aerials.

153 dollars, I've noticed. But what's 1/18 money? A few months ago Kyosho supplied stores with 1/43 and 1/18 Veneno's at the same day, both costing 69,95 euro. 1/43 is just the least value for money scale to collect. And when things get rare, it's just "what the fool pays for it" as we say in Dutch. So no, I'm not surprised by this amount.

Obviously the buyers didn't really look at the pictures and missed the faults.

The big attraction of the 'standard' Furai is how well the graphics work on the intricate matt black shape of the car. These KB specials are dull by comparison and typical of the Japanese collectors' obsession for anything painted matt black. A fad that's been and gone.... Good luck to the seller. I tried clicking on 'see sellers' other items and it showed zero on both pages which is really odd.

I can't even see what's for sale under those plastic bags. I will not buy from a seller who does not take the model out of the package for some high quality photos. This model could be defective for all we know. Clearly this seller took two models out of my hands so that he could sell them to me later for a higher cost. I do not deal with speculators.
