Kess new releases

Post by Paulius43 » Wed May 15, 2019 6:25 pm

I figured maybe we should have a thread of general new releases per manufacturer since the posting rate is so slow (last thread Kess 2016 had 2018 releases shown..).

Just saw these:
KE43047010 ASTON MARTIN - LAGONDA VIGNALE 4-DOOR 1993

Why do I have a feeling it doesn't look right?.. :o

Also comes in silver.

And this one DE TOMASO - ZONDA 1971

The silver version looks more like a beached whale than an Aston Martin. I’m predicting these will end up in discounted bargain bins of most retailers pretty quickly.

Jesus Christ, the shape of the AM Vignale is pretty bad. And look at those wheels on the De Tomaso...

Aston looks horribly clunky compared to the original, which is not going to rival the Miura in the pretty stakes. And the wheels appear to be completely wrong.

DeTo looks a lot closer to the mark though.

The Aston doesn't look that good as a 1:1 but Kess really made a mess of it i n 1:43.

What a poor effort. One wonders how much harder it would be to make these look like they are supposed to? They have already done most of the work.

Their recent Cizeta Moroder was wide of the mark so they seem to be making a habit of these off-kilter models. Still, some interesting subjects and their future production models, Lagonda brake and Iso Fidia look good. If only they would release
them. :(

Indeed, the original version was released with the modelled wheels, the picture I posted is for reference of the body shape.
And still, those wheels look SO toyish I can't think of paying 85-90€ for this model!!! At least a blackwash could have improved the looks... Oh wait, should I do that myself after forking out a green € note???

Is that the Towns Lagonda based Brake? Or one of the others?

It doesn't say on the Kess site or anywhere else that I can see, but it looks to me like the Roos version.

Ok, that Lagonda looks like Partworks model from 20 years ago. I really hope this is just a pre-pre-pre-production sample. :?

But Kess is not really known for the accurate representations. They have some great subjects though. For example I was really looking forward to Maserati Shamal and Cizeta Moroder from them, but the models look poor.
