75 years ago today, April 11th, US forces liberated the VW plant in what is now Wolfsburg, Germany. Here is a brief, interesting article about that time.

Thanks Jerry. Unfortunately this project has been around for so long and is progressing at a snails pace I'm not sure too many Aussies take it seriously anymore.

Not as well known as Stirling Moss, John Horsman who was also an important British figure in racing also passed this past week. He was one the principal JWA engineer responsible for the success of the Gulf Fords, Porsches and Mirage. Here is an article on the 917 which Horsman helped tame and make into the legend it is today. https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/t ... html

Many would assume that Derek Bell would consider a run at Le Mans or a race in F1 as his greatest race. Actually, he feels it was a F2 race. Here is the story. https://www.motorsportmagazine.co ... SJS,1

Thanks for sharing Jerry. I was not aware of this article. I just wish more model manufacturers produced F2 models. Its was a great specticle in its day. Certianly from DB prospective this is most relevant to my collection. I'm sure I can find a July 98 copy of Motorsport.

I'm not a purist when it comes to engine swaps, when it's a sanitary installation. I like this one which makes a Jaguar engine to a Austin Healey Sprite. Wonder how brave you need to be to hurl it about at full chat?

The featuring of Corvettes recently in pages elsewhere on the forum made me think this article on how much power the Chevy L88 427 made would be of interest. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/ar ... -04-21
