Looks good.I suspect that will prove as popular as the earlier versions.

Wonderful duo Gary - I regret removing that 131 from a "cart" a few weeks ago :?

Thanks Ian, Ixo seem to hit a home run with these which isnt surprising considering the amount of rally fans out there.

Thanks Martin , you shouldve kept it as its not bad at all. This one mustve been updated slightly as it doesnt have the horrendous headlight stubs that the other 131 Abarths seem to come with .

Progetto K Fiat 238 Service van - Lancia Pirelli Rally

A basic but quite charming model of the little front wheel drive Fiat 238 . Produced between 1967 - 1983 it was powered by a detuned 1.2 litre engine from a Fiat 124 .

Perfect combo. The Progetto van must be at least 20 years old but still looks fresh.

Considering they pretty much cover my fascinations, I would like to become a fan of Progetto but they always seem a bit crude - this one however, looks very good.

I had to have it when I saw it as the Pirelli Stratos has always been a favourite of mine . According to the box its a LE of just 300 .

It is pretty basic Martin . It had actually come partially apart when it arrived. The tyres were a very loose fit on the wheels so I glued them onto the rims to secure them. The front axle was sitting really low as the interior plastic base plate that locates the axles to the metal floorpan had came unstuck , so the axles had to be put back in place and that had to be reglued . I noticed the red stripe is just a decal and it has just been applied over the door handles....very sloppy. ..........Obviously the build quality of Italian toys matches the build quality of the real cars

They do look good together, but are at entirely different ends of the spectrum where detail and build quality is concerned.

Lancia Pirelli Rallying

Im pretty sure this little Fiat 238 would have trouble pulling the car trailer by itself , so adding a Stratos to the mix would be a definate no-no . Nevertheless, they do look pretty good together .

As you say, great-looking ensemble. If there was a larger van in this livery it would be even better, the 238 could be the parts carrier.

I am pretty certain Ixo have a the larger Fiat 242 lined up for a future release in the Lancia Pirelli livery, so that will be put with the trailer &Stratos. This little 238 was indeed just used as a service van for carrying spares .

Only uphill.
Cool nonetheless, but should the trailer be a four-wheeler for the period?

Yes a twin axle trailer is correct , but the Minichamps trailer is way too modern for most of these rally combo`s.
I have several older trailers that I will use , but they need building and painting first .
