I would like buy one of these, but only with the light color interior. It seems like they are offered on e-bay with either dark or light interiors.

I think this was bought from Speidel or MCW, Germany's largest wholesalers. I bet you'd be able to source one from the German online retailers.

Thanks. I wonder if the version sold in Europe is a bit more detailed than the version sold elsewhere? Before I buy one, I'll ask for confirmation on the interior color.

Oh my, but the Kennedy parade car isn't a '61, but rather a '62 or '63.

This is what a 1961 Lincoln Continental looks like:

It was a customized 1961 delivered to the White House on June 15, of that year.

Here is a photo of the cars arrival at the White House:

It was further modified in September of 1961 on orders of the Secret Service. You can read all about it here:

I see. This is not the first presidential Lincoln to be retrofitted with newer styling. President Roosevelt's 1942 "Sunshine Special" started life as a 1939 model. That car is also available as a 1:43 scale model.

I've always had a soft spot for the '50 Mercury Monterey and its flat-head eight.

Mark I Lincoln Continental Comparison:

ImageMark I Lincoln Continental Comparison by Michael, on Flickr

IXO, Neo and Minichamps. The IXO is too big and the Minichamps is too small. The Neo seems to get it about right.

ImageMark I Lincoln Continental Comparison by Michael, on Flickr

IXO and Minichamps, one is too big and the other is too small, though both are nicely detailed.

IXO and Minichamps. These are different model years, so different interior details. I don't know these cars well enough to know if the details are accurate.

ImageMark I Lincoln Continental Comparison by Michael, on Flickr

The IXO is actually a 1940 model, not a '39.

Inaccuracies are annoying, scale inaccuracy is very annoying.

Inspired by this magazine cover. Not especially happy with the results. Maybe I'll try again sometime.

1958 Edsels by Spark and Minichamps -- the old one's too big and ones too small routine. Although it is too small, the Minichamps seems like the better detailed model.

Mercury, Edsel, Lincoln and Continental.

In this parallel universe, the Lincoln Futura still exist in its original form.

Let's hope that such a universe will soon arrive – otherwise we will have to paint face masks on our figurines ! :(
