ImageFord GT Comparison by Michael, on Flickr

I thought that there was already a Ford GT thread, but I can't find it. If so, can someone point it out to me? If not his is the beginning of such a thread.

Nice little collection MIchael. The black Le Mans version from 2019 shouldn't be too far away either.

There's newer version? Track or street version?

Nice group! I prefer the original by a considerable margin.

Michael, not sure if you're aware, but at Le Mans last year, the four factory Fords ran retro liveries. The #66 Ford ran a tribute livery for the 1966 win.

This is Spark S7930:

I'm not actually a serious motorsport enthusiast, but Ford GTs are so iconic and soo easy to collect.

You might also be interested in the #67 version, which carried a tribute livery to the 1967 win by the Mk IV. Here's mine:

A third car, not released yet, is a tribute to the Miles & Collier car from 1966 which finished 2nd.

The fourth and possibly least interesting car carried the same livery as their 2016 class win.

There is also this privately entered GT soon to be released by Spark....one of the few non-factory Ford GT's.

I watched Ford v Ferrari for the first time last night, which put me in the mood for a Ken Miles tribute.

My version of car #1 is by Bang. Now that I fully appreciate the Ken Miles story I might look to upgrade this model.

Good plan. Thanks to the movie these are a bit more accessible due to re-releases, but I wouldn't wait too long.

You would like the Spark upgrade if you decide to go that route.

Now that you have seen the movie, you might like this article. While the movie is great cinema, it has distorted the real story for dramatic effect. ;)

I like the slot layout! I have that model of the White House, which I am building into a diorama of the old Maison Blanche corner.

Ford v Ferrari or LeMans '66 (depending on where you live) is great cinema, but, as movies almost always are, a distorted historical narrative based on the imperative of good story telling. There are a number of videos on YouTube pointing out the things that the movie got right and wrong.

Although I bought the disc and you can pay to view the movie on a number of streaming services, it appears that the entire movie is now on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AphqetTrXt0

Here is the best comparison video that I've seen comparing the film with the historical facts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYVzwR_RKCE
