A lot of my initial reluctance to watch it was because I know the story pretty well and I knew the "hollywoodisims" would bother me.
I generally like to see the movie first and then read the book.

I found this TSM version of the 2016 LeMans Ford GT on e-bay. They are by TSM, but very different and sell for less than half the price of a regular TSM Ford GT. Apparently these were especially produced for Taiwan. Has anybody come across this before?

Comparison of Mk II Ford GT40s by Minichamps, IXO and Bang with the new Mk III by Matrix

ImageFord GT40 Mk III by Matrix by Michael, on Flickr

The new GT40 Mk III by Matrix is a good looking model, but I think a bit undersized. If anything I would expect the 1:1 Mk III to be a little bit larger than the Mk II, particularly in length. However the model is about the same length as the Mk IIs and a little bit shorter and narrower.

A Mk III that was in the news recently: https://fordauthority.com/2020/11/super ... ve-museum/

Looking at photos of the 1:1, it seems that Matrix didn't do the back of the car justice.

Thought this article on two recent development documents might be of interest to some. Thought the parts list with diagrams was especially interesting. https://racer.com/2020/12/20/spe ... uments/

Nice link Jerry.

I just bought a diorama background from Milena Rose, and thought that I would post some better lighted photos of the Mk III.

The thing that most annoys me about this model is that the Goodyear logos are all upside down at the 'bottom' of the tyres. I took mine apart to re-align them but I don't understand why they are presented this way in the first place.

I'm not sure why they put logos on the tyres at all as the car didn't have them in period. I think it would have looked better without them.

The addition of the Goodyear logos and the positioning at the 'bottom' of the tyre may have been inspired from this photo from Pebble Beach.

Good point and glad to know the situation is correctible.

These are both great photos and I think that you are right about the inspiration for the logo.

Ford GT Comparison by IXO and Greenlight

I believe that these models share the same casting. The IXO has better headlight and interior details while the Greenlights has painted brake calipers.

ImageFord GT Comparison, IXO and Greenlight by Michael, on Flickr

At this point my modern Ford GT collection consist of:

2015 Detroit Auto Show car by TSM
2016 LeMans Car #68 by Premium X
2017 Heritage Edition by TSM
2017 blue GT with white stripe by IXO
2019 Heritage Edition by Greenlight

Can anyone tell me if the white on blue color combo was also used in 2018? For collection management purposes I would be happy to know that my new IXO model is interchangeably a 2017 or 2018 model. Thoughts?

An internet search indicates liquid blue was used in 2018, so you could call it that model year. You might like this website: https://www.ford.com/performance/ ... ator/

Perfect! Thanks for the link. It seems like the basic colors are offered every year and it is only the Heritage Editions that are model year specific.

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.
Road investment is so poor around here that instead of driving on the left, we get to drive on what's left
