British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Also known as the Toyota shorttail and Toyota longtail. Nice comparison pic which highlights the differences well - I've not seen a picture of the 1:1's side by side.

Hey I thought this was Andy's personal thread!!

I like these one, but just can't make myself pull the trigger yet.
Now if they win this year.....
Nice to be able to compare them side by side like that.
Interesting that the air pressure cutouts on the front fenders are farther back on the newer one.

the rear ones were also moved to the sides of the rear wheel arches on the TS040.

I love seeing these LeMans racers, especially the aero tweaks on the latest cars.
Sir Gary's thread has been around for a while but somehow I missed it. An enjoyable two days reviewing the pics. Thank you all for your posts.
Though I have shown these pictures on another thread somewhere before, I thought some might enjoy seeing pics of my LeMans display here too.

The cars shown represent those typical of the period starting with the first winner.
Left side. Cunningham cars of the 1950's are featured along the back.

Right side overlaps the left and finishes the display.

Le mans has essentially remained unchanged (race track layout) and so each label shows the winning cars average speed and miles traveled.
Not all of the cars displayed were winners, rather the focus is on the evolution of aero elements in design (and cars I found interesting).
The question is, How does one solve the equation of speed? Engines are only part of the equation but were of first focus and then the next focus was . . . .
Lots of interesting solutions are seen in these race cars, here are some examples.

And just a few years later

I have a couple but they need to be unboxed, though i don't have either of those. I have had them in the past but sold them on. Should add those to the models i wish i hadn't sold list.
