British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

The BTCC Vectra looks 100% better being lowered to what it should of been in the beginning.

10 minutes work. Undo two base screws, with a jeweller's philips, undo two base of car screws. Gentle twisting motion to remove wheel with tyre from each axle. Mini drill up the axle holes in the plastic with a 2mm drill. Sand down wheel and axle end by a tad and re-assemble. Did not detail interior but this would be easy to do another day.

One of my bosses had one of those in the mid 80's and we thought it was the dogs' proverbials with its crushed velvet interior and massive instrument binnacle full of gauges - plus and auto gearbox - woohoo. And it was Metallic Gold.

Based on the above colour combo - was the interior as garish?

Yes - but as we know, there was no such thing as modesty in the 80's - it had the Midas touch

Not unlike the Consul S / Granada as used in the Sweeney.
