Wow, he's good! There are some great artists working on realistic miniatures these days, and their work looks so good when well photographed and presented online in this way. Inspiring stuff.

Incredible attention to detail. Some of the best I've ever seen. Especially realistic-looking rust! Is this part of a model railroad?

Looks like it's a couple of scenes in different scales. The rally car looks like 1:76, the Transporter like 1:43. The Land-Rover is a 1:43 Cararama I think, and some of the 'rust' close-ups look like 1:24.

Yes, Tom. I was thinking that the scales seem to look different, depending on the shot.

Incderible weathering and detailing :) Quite lifelike sceneries.

Two things I want to learn how to do, make rust and make realistic water and snow. Well, I guess that was three things. :D Enjoy the work, thanks for posting Tom!

... I want to learn how to ... make ... realistic water ...
I loved his work on the water. I've tried doing it myself a few times and it isn't as tricky as it might at first seem, so it's worth having a go. However I have to say that this guy's water is really really nicely done.

But just for interest's sake, I included in my shipbuilding thread a how-to on how I made ocean water, and it includes links to the experts I followed. Hope it gets you started ... scroll down this page and it starts about half-way down.

Thanks for that I will take a look. Not sure what I will make with water in it, just something I've wanted to do.

In this case, its Paul Hawkins' 1965 Lotus:

Now that would be a challenge ! Making the water would be easy compared to making the boat and finding a couple of diver figurines.

I agree RT, while intriguing, not something I would want to tackle right now. If I was to do a Monaco harbor scene with the car in the water, would probably do Ascari in the Lancia D-50. To cut my teeth on doing water, I had something simpler in mind, like waves and ocean for a base using this replica of our old local lifeboat.

The other wood be a base for the Japanese wooden boat Ive had for decades.

Top effort.
I posted the pics to the (only) other forum I post on 'old school' in NZ (old cars and vintage everything)

Pretty popular topic.

Now there's an idea! I have always liked the shot of the Chaparral boating through the waves and I have the model! :D

Love the Japanese wooden boat. A while back I had a go at creating a speedboat diorama, using a very modified plastic kit of a Russian WWII Volga River attack boat as my speedboat. My aim was to create a 1950s Italian Riviera scene, complete with Mr Lothario driving the boat and his lovely ladies enjoying the ride.

Excellent work! I am envious! I also have some 1950's speed boats in 1/43 that would look good in a water setting rather than resting on a trailer.

Excellent. 8-) I had to look a second time to see that it's a picture of a model !
