Black Friday Sales

Post by Jager »

Post your Black Friday sale info here. So far I've seen:

Cartima have 20% off (with the code "RED2020") this weekend

CK Modelcars have 15% of all orders today.

Replicarz have 17 - 20% off depending on the size of the order (with Promo codes BF1 >$100, BF2 >$250, BF3>$500), but excludes models already on sale.

What have you bought ?

Thanks for the heads up, but no purchases this year for this weekend as all my wanted models are not available (or can't make up a several models pack to save on shipping..) I did buy at MCW a few weeks ago when they started dumping some models on their site "Black Month" they must have called it, not Friday..

Thanks for the lead Tom. I was just looking and I will need to buy five models to qualify for free shipping, otherwise the shipping erases the good deal.

I hope they have five nice Fords. With 300 models on sale there's a decent chance, though you have quite the collection already...

I won't be buying anything myself.

Tom, you just lightened my wallet a little bit :P I actually checked out their site about 2 days ago via their email promotion. At the time, only a small amount reflected a $15 price and I was not that interested in what I saw. Checked again this morning on your link and there were so many models calling my name :D I've been a BIG IXO fan for years. They usually deliver a wonderful product, even at regular prices and their FREE shipping to the US is a nice bonus. Before this purchase, my IXO count was at 154.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I agree. My finances don't agree but I've seen quite a few that I'd love to have... big Ixo fan myself, I don't even dare count mine. Amazing VFM at $15.

I see that the American Excellence 30% sale is extended for another week and now covers everything. An odd thing though.. . I put several models in my cart to see what the total was and they wanted to give me a $30 discount, not 30%, which would have been more. I didn't go through with the order.

I experienced the same. I've spent a cumulative mid-4 figure sum with this company in the last 8 years. In my dealings, they never seem to answer emails and are abysmal in dealing with in case of a broken model. I would be cautious

Seems that just about everyone has extended their Black Friday sales into this week, suggesting maybe that orders haven't been what the retailers had hoped for. Given these uncertain times I'm not that surprised people are holding onto their cash instead.

There is always the risk that you buy something 'cause it's cheap and that it does not really fit your collection...

I used the 20% discount at Cartima to get me two Porsches 908/03 (A car I think shows the absolute determination and engineering skills from Porsche, even more than the 917) from Spark and one 996 RSR from Minichamps because it was only 20 euro

Although I had some other plan with the 996, I'm actually really happy with all three. The rear wing supports are pretty thick on the Minichamps model, but other than that it is actually a pretty sharp looking model.

Hahaha, who am I to judge :D

Even more: if you buy something and you enjoy it even more because it was a good deal, that's a double bonus 8-)

I guess all sellers did the same..

I unexpectedly spent 200+ European coins on MCW just by clicking on their email banner "Let's see which cars are discounted with -25%"..

I'm hovering around the MCW Black Friday sale too. The thing is that the flat rate shipping to the US is high, so I feel like I need to buy several models to amortize the shipping expense.. but that adds up too.
