Re: NEO Miscues
American companies were probably best for photographing and documenting their yearly updates. Manufacturer brochures and colour charts are often a good guide to colour ways used. Personal customisations not so easy to keep track of. It seems some model companies get hold of pics of those. Worse still they proceed to turn out those instead of factory originals.

Same here!Tom wrote:I would love to be a researcher for a model maker.

Thanks to Scotto (SheepCrusher), I once got in touch with a person from TSM, in order to try to help them better research Rolls-Royce cars. Unfortunately, communication with that person stopped almost immediately after my first message.

I've noticed this problem too. Sad and disturbing.GBOAC002 wrote:American companies were probably best for photographing and documenting their yearly updates. Re: NEO Miscues
I have always said that they have a treasure trove of information on forums that is free. All they ave to do is ask. I know they shy away for various reasons, some on the internet are pretty cruel and clueless (not here but elsewhere) and there is a lot of hyperbole coming from commentators. But done right everyone would benefit.
I could even set up an advisory board type of thing where only a small group of members could see and access what a manufacturer was working on.
Never going to happen though, probably because it makes too much sense.

Re: NEO Miscues
not necessary a miscue, but i see the lates neo lancia flaminia coupe speciale pininfarina got the BoS treatment on the windows: foil of plastic with silver painted ornaments....i guess they tried to lower the costs....it it "only" 70 euros....if you ask me, they just lowered the standards...and i am happy with that, one more reason not to droll over their cars....shame though, they were pretty good.

Also the side indicators are only painted and if I see correctly, door handles are only painted too and not a separate pieces.
Somehow the whole model feels to have a BoS quality and details. Same goes for many new NEO models. They have few details and etched parts but still come with Neo prices.

I have just noticed that Citroën name is wrong on a base of Bonneville land speed record car.

Better the base than the car

You know why Italians speak with their hands? Because they have to work a lot on their engines.

Not defending the Chinese, but I wonder how many English-speaking people know that Citroën is written with an ë and not e or an ö...

Re: NEO Miscues
Of course that it may be just a matter of lack of QC, but I would NOT be surprised if the matrix material arrived spelled wrong to the factory.

Hahah, this one is even better.
SSSsssssssb
It seems that they just don't care anymore.
Rear lights also don't look too convincing for a 70 EUR model.

Re: NEO Miscues
I wonder if "Sssb" is a deliberate mistake due to licencing issues ?

And if they didn't have the licence it wouldn't say 'SAAB' on the bootlid.

More likely typed by a non English speaker as A & S are next to each other on the keyboard.

Or non-Swedish as Saab is an abbreviation from Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolaget
Unbelievable mistake, maybe a result of friday afternoon rush job 5 minutes before going home for a weekend, just get it done somehow and ship it

Re: NEO Miscues
Like the Citroen, proper proof reading would have fixed this. Apparently, nobody cares.
