I’m back from the Pub now, these are the cars. Which one to keep?

The one car that shouts Colin McRae to me is the Subaru. Having said that, the Escort is the best-looking car by a landslide...

It’s also quite rare as I’ve just discovered, a limited edition of 999 produced by Rallye-Fanshop in Germany with Trofeu origins (RFS04).
I expect Chris has one in his superb collection. Might sell this one and the Ford and keep his championship winning Impreza.

Yes, and by god he was quick in that Escort. I have the RFS model but 999 is not limited edition these days (150 is quite a lot these days) and i think Vanguards did a lower quality version of the same car.

Yes the Colin McRae Collection currently stands at 133.

Added a few more over lockdown including the ASCAR Ford Taurus

I reckon that there are a possible 300 that could be done

If you want your Colin McRae collection to be more realistic, shouldn't you display the cars upside-down on their roofs ;)

What’s the story behind McRae driving a 1979 car in a rally in 2007?

Stewart

Colin wanted a state of the art modern Mk2 Escort just to go and play with later in his career.

Best to read this article all about the car built for him by DJM Motorsport. Any resemblance to an original Mk2 Escort stops after the bodywork!!!!

Thanks Chris, that explains it.
Your post didn’t come through with any links that you probably intended but I’m sure I can google them up.
