How great is is that within 2 months of discovering the mistake, a forum member has come up with a solution. I wouldn't have known where to start.
Did you just use water to remove the old decals Peter, or something stronger?

Full fitting instructions and modelling tips are given with the decals.
Basically, The sunvisor will just scrape-off with your thumb nail, assuming you don't bite your nails...
The number on the bonnet needs a bit more attention.
Nothing else to remove!

With the exception of using needle nosed tweezers to position the decals, I followed the instructions to the letter and..... voila!
More than happy with the outcome. Well thought through instructions and i thought the inclusion of the silver decals to mask a current one showed real attention to detail.
Many thanks Peter!!!

Glad you liked them.
I found the tweezers could be a bit lethal, But hey, each to their own!
Yes, silver this time, we have used black in the past! That's another trick for later.
I hope you were happy with the price? I'm not here to make money, just cover my costs.

Peter - I thought the price was very reasonable when you consider the quality of the printing and my personal preference to actually make a car that did exist in the real world!! The detail is very sharp (professional/manufacturer standard i'd say) rather than some of the home made decals you can buy off the web which through no fault of the producers, are made on domestic ink cartridge type printers which struggle with the fine detail - i'm guessing you have access to a professional decal producer?

Mine is under way - sunstrip and Bosch decals done. Silver discs are drying on the doors.
One question for Peter and Reef: How did you cut the new door number ovals? I have got a reasonably good oval with scissors, but it still looks a little jagged. I am wondering if it would be possible to cut it smaller, so that the original white oval extends beyond the edges of the new one, hiding any rough cutting.

My decals arrived today they look superb, need to go up the loft now

I'm not addicted to models, an addict admits their problems & I don't have a problem.

Re the decals, the replacement door decals perfectly cover the old decals and have a clear surround, so once youve fitted the silver decals (which dont cover the outer rim of the old door decals from memory), providing you get the new door decals perfectly aligned, they will cover the old decals fully and the clear surround means that any slightly rough cutting out is invisible to all but the closest scrutiny - at least thats my recollection - it was at least 3 days ago and ive already forgotten!!

I use straight edge hair cutting scissors. Not too long, really sharp.

Thanks for the input gents. Gave my first roundel a final trim, and it has just gone on perfectly. As has the bonnet number. Only one more opportunity left to cock it up, but so far you would be hard pressed to tell that the decals were customised. Couldn't be happier with them.
Will update my own photos, but probably not until next week now.

Spoke too soon, and made a slight mess of the last door number! It's good enough though - only a slightly iffy edge in one place. Photos taken and currently awaiting editing. Watch this space!

Thanks gents. I am far happier now I know that it actually resembles the car that it is supposed to. Also gave me an excuse to re-shoot against the grey background, and I did a couple of others whilst the kit was out.
