Beautiful car and model. I've decided to pass on this one though as I feel I have enough of these streamline coupes which tend to blur into one after a while and this one in particular is almost a mirror image of the Embiricos Bentley.

You know why Italians speak with their hands? Because they have to work a lot on their engines.

Some would say mundane, others would say dull.;) Shockingly poor window frames on this MC.

I like the 700, in view of what came later it's quite un-BMW.

When BMW GB started importing cars to the UK in the early 1960s they sent me a bundle of brochures which included the 700. I passed the 700 brochure on but kept the 1500, 1800 and 2500 catalogues. Even in 1:43 I haven't changed my opinion about the 700. I recently posted in Car Sightings the fact that a white 700LS had pootled along one of our local main roads.

Can't say that I've ever seen the real car but the model looks good.

In this case photography hasn't helped. I intend mildly titivating it.

It has always been my understanding that Austin was a down market brand? And that Vanden Plas means top of the line? So is this merely a tarted up low line car?

Vanden Plas was Austin of England's equivalent to Ford Ghia. Just google Austin Vanden Plas images to get the range.

Beautiful model, David. I really like the California and Look Smart always does a great job replicating Ferrari cars.

The only issue with it is with the tires. The seems to be disaligned in comparison to the wheels.

Bruno,
Yes, when I take it off the plinth I'll adjust the tyres.

Great additions! ;)

I'm not a big fan of the California, but your model looks really nice.

I like the Ferrari. Is it black or charcoal gray?

Charcoal grey as per middle pic. Found it difficult to photograph correctly.

Very nice David. Those Looksmart Ferrari’s are now a pretty penny over this way.
