I prefer the production car but it's good that the concept was modelled in 1:43.

What production car? Over 600 were made!
The convertible was a one off though.

I like those colors on the model, but I think I would find the beige to be a little bland on the 1:1.

Beautiful. I saw the concept and I was sooooo disappointed when the production car was introduced...

Like Tom I was 'thrilled to bits' when I saw the Brera Concept on the Geneva motor show stand thinking Wow!!!! this is gorgeous! It will sell like hot cakes. And then...... when it was revealed that the production car had been squeezed to fit a Tipo platform my heart sunk!

From being a 'Dead Cert' buy for me, even after a test drive I just had to settle on my elegantly designed BMW E46 Coupe instead. I've never regretted that decision.

One of my neighbours did actually buy a red Brera but he later traded it against a dark blue used Honda S2000 which he's still got.

So Tom I agree with you, Brera was a lost opportunity. Sad :(

Lovely. Does anyone have any shots of the concept car next to the production version ?

It's true that the concept was watered down for the production car but it was still pretty cool. As for this model, it was the first Spark I bought and was a revelation to get such a quality model at such a reasonable price, less than £30 at the time! There is however a bizarre flaw, the inner headlamps being painted white for some reason.

To my eye the concept is sharper and more elegant than the production, even though the changes are subtle.

Interesting David. While I like the look of the longer doors on the concept, living with them in real life would be a pain, so understand some of the compromises they had to make.

I admit the concept looks a little better (because it's stretched out more), but I still like the production version.

Very attractive. I'd never seen that before, newer casting?
