Ferrari F1 die-casts

Post by rickspeed » Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:10 am

I recently started on a collection of Ferrari F1 models, as these would represent the development of Formula One cars throughout the various periods, Ferrari having been there from the start.
I bought some rather crude die-cast models, which were okay for the price, but did not really satisfy me.
I therefore took it upon myself to 'improve' them and to display them on mini-diorama bases.

The first of these models is the Ferrari 375 of 1951, driven by Alberto Ascari.

And here the original model before I went to work on it.

Next is the Ferrari 555 Squalo from 1954, as driven to victory by Mike Hawthorn in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Once again I have added a black wash to highlight the panel lines and repainted the exhaust.

Nice cars.

I started my ferrari collection this year too, starting from 1974 Ferrari 312B3/74. Most are low priced.

Nice collection. Now you just need to spend $200 on 40 sets of Marlboro decals :D .
