I must be losing my will and restraint :? I too find these TF and Carrera Panamericana cars incredibly tempting. I've never considered myself a 'numbered' cars collector and I know very little about that world. But when looking closely at these models and then learning a little history about drivers, the tracks, etc, there really is an undeniable charm. While shooting all of my 1:43rds last Summer/Fall, I realized that about 8% of my collection consists of racers and I'm starting to think I might have a few gaps

X2. I'm also not particularly versed in the lore of racing, tracks and drivers, but I look at the posts about them on the Forum. It's piqued my interest, and I have been seduced into buying what I otherwise would not have considered. So now about 10% of my collection has numbers from various eras, reflecting a potpourri of racing vehicles. Blame Sir Stirling? No, I blame the Forum.

A great looking model, even if its hard to see much of the Jaguar XK120 in the design.

I bid but got outbid (considerably) on the XK120 but managed to negotiate him making another one. I'm not bidding on the Portago Ferrari.

I'm glad you like them gents. I would have never thought this was my era for collecting, but there is something special about the racers that appeared in these road race/rallies.

AS an avowed racing freak, cars with numbers always come first with me, so I am enjoying this diversion into South(?) America. My focus is more on the Italian classic road races, but I could also see myself getting hooked on the Carrera.

Love the obscurity of the XK.

That XK is charming. I bet it would look good in any collection.

It's not often you see a car numbered #100..... I only have one in my entire collection.

Looks like it was a nice easy conversion.

I made it harder than it should have been Ian. Had to enlarge the front wheel arches, and grind out the spats at the rear. Slipped a few times whilst doing it and damaged the paint so had to repaint the entire car lol

It looks great! Specially because you made it - that adds TREMENDOUS value to the model.

I'd missed the fact that you had to make major changes to the body. Well done.

Cool. I have the Le Mans version, but nice to see an alternative.

VERY nice indeed! TF is a race I don't collect just because of space issues.
