Iso Daytona 6000 GT 1965 - MATRIX

To my eye hints of Ferrari 250 LM ?

Really stunning David, and not too much decoration.

If there's anything you want a car to resemble, a 250LM is a great example. Beautiful car and model.

Yep, clone all the way. Good thing the original one was good-looking.

Great way to finish the year David.

I did a little reading up on this car and found this comment about the design :
This Daytona GT Prototype began life as an Iso Rivolta GT 'stradale.' It was involved in an accident early on its life, and than acquired by car dealer Carlo Bernasconi of Milan who commissioned a prototype for an Iso-based, dual purpose competition GT with the a body shape of his own design. The work was performed by coachbuilders Neri & Bonacini of Modena.
Also worth noting was the following :
In 2000, the Daytona was sold to its current owner, a west coast American collector and racer. While in his care, the car was given another restoration. It was given some additional features such as a functional hood scoop for cooling purposes and an outside fuel filler cap.
It appears Matrix have modelled the car on the 2000 restored version rather than the original. With a little research, they could easily have found pictures of the original before the bonnet scoop was added :

Apparently the original car was also green, not red. The C-Pillars were also a lot more elongated, meaning it looked a little less like the 250 LM, the tail did not have the spoiler and rear window was vertical not slanted on an angle :

Finally, the car never raced in period, so its was actually more a road car than a race car.

Super cool model, David. I like that a lot. I also like very much the shape of the 250 LM, hence I like this Iso too.
