My 1/43 JJ Lehto Collection - (some) pics recovered 18/10/17
So this is the main reason I've joined up, to seek advice on where and how to plug the gaps (there are many at the moment) in this collection. The idea is to collect as many of the cars raced by JJ Lehto in 1/43. I'll start with a list in the first post which I can update accordingly...
Key...
Green text are the models I currently have in my collection;
Orange text are models purchased but need building up or modifying; &

Re: My 1/43 JJ Lehto Collection
Nice to see a really well structured collection.
Is JJ out of jail yet ? I understand he was given a two year jail sentance in 2010, so presumably he's served his time and getting on with life.

Keen idea.
Kudos to you for putting this theme together.
I keep threatening to do a Montoya collection, but haven't found the time to pull the trigger...yet.

Lot of cars to collect. Nice display
That boat crash was quite terrible and deadly which caused the jail sentence but I guess it wasn't 100% clear who drove the boat so all charges were dropped after all.

Re: My 1/43 JJ Lehto Collection
Yes, I always thought the Astras looked the business at the time - I've got (or had) a few 1/87th scale Astras from that time too. I was lucky to get this one as I seem to remember it was a limited edition (to 500) and I was not very quick off the mark. By the time I even knew it existed, it was sold out, and when I did see it on ebay the price was extortionate. I bought a similar liveried Yves Oliver version for a later conversion, but then I spotted this one on ebay and was lucky to win it very cheaply!JSB33 wrote:Nice looking car/livery.
Cheers, inevitably it's growing - I just bought both the Minichamps versions of the 2001 BMW M3 E46 GTR (despite saying a while ago that I wouldn't go down the route of getting variants of the same car!!!)Stu935 wrote:great collection you've put together so far. I was always chasing these Astra in 1:18, they were very expensive when I was buying 1:18 and all I ever ended up with was the Old Spice car.raystaggs wrote:Yes, I always thought the Astras looked the business at the time - I've got (or had) a few 1/87th scale Astras from that time too. Re: My 1/43 JJ Lehto Collection
I would never have realised that a Lehto collection would include a DTM car. It looks good - I have a version, but not in this livery, which works well.

Yep, he spent 1995 and 1996 racing a Calibra in the DTM/ITC as well.guitardave_1 wrote:I would never have realised that a Lehto collection would include a DTM car. It looks good - I have a version, but not in this livery, which works well.

Nice. Have been needing to replace my 1:18 M3 GTR ever since I started in the smaller scale. Can never decide on which version or livery I prefer.

First post updated with new orders and info.
That should be it for me with no more additions before Christmas, but you never know what bargains might pop up...

At first glance it looks to bear up well when compared to the Spark 2005 Le Mans version.Tom wrote:You should be, beautiful model.

I have the Astra as well and I really like the Opel livery they used as the blue and yellow really do look good.
