Fiat 645 - Scuderia Serenissima

Post by andor88 »

An italian tale of friendship turned into rivalry:

Scuderia Serenissima, under the patronage of Count Giovanni Volpi di Misurata hired the fugitives from Ferrari's Palace Revolt. An interesting episode from the Prancing Horse history: https://drivetribe.com/p/trouble-in-par ... 84ssvomoYA

A stock 250 SWB and one developed by Carlo Chiti, head of design, and also one of the chiefs in the revolt, 250 "Sharknose":

The famous 250 GT "Breadvan":

And finally their struggle to produce their own model, Serenissima 308 Jet Competizione:

The team transporter was this Fiat 645, with delicious details:

I'm very fond of the pulley system, with the ropes, not functional, but delicate enough to impress:

A vintage picture from the box:

That's a great mini-collection based on an unusual theme. Congratulations on acquiring the set.

There is a similar Tron 1965 Fiat 645 Ferrari transporter on eBay from a seller here in Australia. I've been admiring it for several months, but can bring myself to pay the US$290 / Euro 240 he wants for it.

For a truck of this type that's not that steep price. From it's configuration I guess it's difficult to fit any model on the lower deck. I specifically asked Ilario Vecchiatto (IV Model) to cut the back of the loading space in the style of Schuco's Man 635 Porsche Renntransporter. Without that removable piece I couldn't have fit the Breadvan there either.
