Re: 1:43 Ford Truck Collection
I seem to have become more interested in fire engines, especially classic ones, recently. If they wouldn't take up so much space I'd love to have a subcollection of them.
Also like the Maltese bus, a nice reminder of a holiday in Malta years ago.

Thanks Michael.
Nice to see the Falcon Cobra Pace Car - as an impressionable teenager in the late 70s it was "the car I must own one day".

Comparison of two versions of the Ford/Simca Cargo by IXO:
Ford SAF/Simca Cargos (IXO) by Michael, on Flickr
The Cargo articulated is better detailed than the Bailly Paris moving van.

Simca Cargo Van (IXO) by Michael, on Flickr
Turns out the the moving van version of Cargo is a Simca. These were built as Simcas from 1955 to about 1966.

The articulated cab appears to be more detailed than the van. The articulated cab is a Ford (1952-54) with a Hercules diesel while van is a Simca (1955-66) with a Ford V8.

1933/34 Ford Panel Truck by Eligor

Eligor labels this model as a 1932 model. but the sloped grille makes it a 1933/34 model. I think I will do some light modifications to make it look more authentic.

Ford LCF by Eligor.
Now I have both the Ford promotional model and the more standard looking reissue by Tyotoys.

Two versions of Eligor's circa 2007 Ford LCF model. The blue one was build a as Ford promotional model and the white one was marketed by Tyotoys as a blank canvas for miniature taggers and graffiti artist. Over all the white truck seems better detailed, but the blue truck as the proper Ford LCF door badges.

Re: 1:43 Ford Truck Collection
I am very excited to discover on e-bay last night that IXO has issued a 1980s Ford Cargo in their Brazilian partwork line. The one on ebay is too expensive, but I would assume that other version of this Truck will be issued eventually in the European partwork series.

400E Thames Team Lotus transporter by Auto Cult
This is my first Auto Cult model and I am impressed by the fine detail but dismayed by the fact that it is too small to really be a 1:43 model.

Size comparison between 400E Thames by Auto Cult and Oxford (and I thought that the Oxford was a tad small).

Great looking truck though you do raise a very good question about the size.

Re: 1:43 Ford Truck Collection
Its a great looking model, but the size is unbelievable . Either the Thames is tiny or that's one giant Lotus racecar .

Re: 1:43 Ford Truck Collection
The Autocult model represents one of the Team Lotus transporters as it was used in the late 50's. The thing is - Team Lotus had significantly lengthened the wheelbase to use it as a race car transporter. Regular Thames 400E vans have a quite short wheelbase.
Unfortunately, Autocult did not alter the Thames 400E flatbed model they already had in their model serie (with the original 'short' wheelbase, correct for a regular model). They just put a different paint.

Re: 1:43 Ford Truck Collection
We discussed this over in the Autocult thread. If you Google the registration number "882 YPL", you'll find that the 1:1 is not a genuine ex-Team Lotus vehicle and is simply a replica :jpgp79 wrote:The Autocult model represents one of the Team Lotus transporters as it was used in the late 50's. There is a strong chance Autocult have simply produced their model from 882 YPL without realizing it isn't genuine.
