You have another option Alex. If that situation arises again, let someone locally from here know in advance and we can place a bid on your behalf.
Thanks man, good to know. In the meantime I made a saved search on eBay, hopefully one shows up sometime.

Didn't think there were any new ones floating about anymore. That's still a great price - *sigh* - if any of you guys should come across the XK180 again, let me know :)

To heck with the 1:43, I want a 1:1 in the U.S.!!! That is one gorgeous and refined wagon!

'Murica's need to look 'outdoorsy' or whatever with every wagon raised 3 inches, needless body cladding etc. is really growing old to my eyes  Maybe it's a lumberjack thing with the beards and flannel shirts too. I just want a low, slick wagon that can pull a wagon, get 30 MPG and not cost Audi or M-B money...there must be others of like mind?

Ah, my terrible timing... There's now someone on eBay selling one for an outrageous $150 OBO :? For that price I ought to be able to see through the windows, at least.

Some very good deals there indeed. At these prices one or more could easily find their way to Texas...

Good seller who is happy to respond to requests. Bought some HPI Celica Twin Cam Turbos from him at less than 50% rrp.

These are some nice prices for HPI models. Too bad that the shipping is quite expensive (at least to Europe):

The prices are great but it looks like most of his inventory has been already depleted. He used to have a wider variety in the recent past.

Yes, these models are out of production for quite some time, I am surprised that they this seller still has them. Although older I think they still look great. Too bad that HPI is not around any more.

True, HPI models are fantastic and not so expensive (most of the times). If you find one that you like for an affordable price, just go for it because you don't need to worry about the quality of those models, except for some that have windows popping out of their frames.

I only see that on the resin models. None if my die cast HPIs have that.

Neither on my models, but I have seen it somewhere in the web.

Rare Spark 2002 Le Mans Morgan for GBP 35 / Euro 40 from the Netherlands :

Image

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morgan-Aero- ... Sw3q5aW7y5

I've seen them sell for more than double this :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARK-S0366- ... SwYc5Z-dHR

Wouldn't mind it myself, but the seller only ships to Europe. I suspect by the time I arrange something with shipping it would already be gone, so hope someone else here can grab it.

Ian,

If that model on offer at £40 is supplied with a good outer outer cardboard sleeve, then it is remarkably cheap. The model in the other auction you refer to doesn't have the outer sleeve ('manque emballage carton' is quoted) and sold, as you say, for more than twice the price of this current ‘buy it now’ deal.

The highest price I’ve personally noted in the last couple of years for this DeWalt 2002 Morgan is £175.

Where the Le Mans 2004 Castle Communications version is concerned the sky can be the limit. I have a screen shot on file of the closure of an auction on 17 January 2016 at EUR807.00 (£640.00 at that time). This was at the time a large collection of Spark models were on offer by one seller. Two buyers, who clearly had a lot of cash to spend, bid against one another to the extent that quite a number of models sold at prices far above the norm. Nevertheless the 2004 Morgan is very sought after.
